Registration for the 2010 event will open at the event with a special price for 2009 attendees. Stop by the registration table on your way to watch the festival, attend classes, or shop to sign up for next year's event at the lowest possible price. On site registration will be $395 or 12 payments of $34 for the 4-day package. This includes 24 hours of classes, a ticket to the Friday show, a ticket to the Saturday show, and a thank you gift.

Additionally, those who register for the 2010 event on site before the Sunday lunch will be entered into a special raffle to win free Flamingo merchandise! Regular online registration for the 2010 event will open September 15th, with a slightly higher price.

Hello everyone. (from Director of Volunteers, Reema)

I have been asked to be the Director of Volunteers for the LV Intensive 2009. I am looking for enthusiastic, fun loving people who want to take part in one of the biggest and best events Las Vegas has to offer. So many performers come to Las Vegas and witness first-hand the comradery and family like atmosphere at this event and a great part is owed to all the wonderful and generous volunteers we count on each year.

Additionally, volunteers get the added perks of taking some classes or attending the shows for free, and have fun. There are many opportunities to be involved in. We need people to be ushers,to help at the registration tables, and to check people into classes. We also need help running the festival stage, runners for vendors & performers, personal assistants to the teachers, etc. We'd enjoy having some "belly husbands" who want to help move, set up, and tear down equipment as well as dealing with technical aspects of the event. First Friday every first friday of the month

This is a event that happens in the Arts District every first friday of the month. The area is going through a facelift, new wider sidewalks, new beautiful trees where planted a couple weeks ago. Thousands of people show up to hear free music from talented artist. Plus a wide variety of local artist with unique items to sell.

I participate in the show, I sell jewelry along with other talented people. It's a fun event, and it's in the evening from 6pm-10pm, so right now that helps beat the heat. They ask for a $2 entrance fee, unfortunately budget cuts have happened. But what can you do in Vegas for only $2? The event is run by volunteers mainly. So if you want to help out go to www.firstfriday-lasvegas.org, any help is appreciated.

So come out with the whole family, meet locals, and it's an inexpensive "local event" since we now all deal with high gas prices. Food, drinks, music, art, what else do we need? Take the I-15, exit Charleston, pass Holsum lofts, on Casino Center, all streets are blocked off, and police presence is always there. It's a safe and fun event.

Please help keep natural food deliveries coming to Las Vegas

I don't work for these people or anything, but I would hate for this to go away.

I found a way to buy good natural and organic foods at a really good price. But this might go away because of lack of support. If more people don't order from this company, it will drop Las Vegas from their delivery route. They aren't getting enough orders from this region to justify making a drop here. They currently do a delivery drop once a month. Currently they only have about 25 customers in Las Vegas and it isn't enough. It's sort of like a food co-op but it's only the one company.

If you want to help, you can just by checking out the company and the prices and giving it a try if it's something you can use.

The company is called Azure Standard. They sell the same sort of things as other natural foods stores, even the same brands, but the prices are very good. I buy lots of things from them in bulk and by the case, organic brown rice, pure cacao, powdered soy milk, organic bread machine mixes, etc. But you can get single packages too. They have name brands like Fantastic Foods which you can get by the package or in bulk.

I like the fact that we aren't getting as many chemicals and junk in our food but we aren't paying through the nose for it.

I use food grade hydrogen peroxide to help with hygiene around the home, and a gallon is 23.25. You can't even buy it in Las Vegas, and the other mail order companies charge twice as much.

I believe the next delivery is scheduled for June 26, and the deadline to place an order is the Thursday before, the 21rst. The minimum order is $40.00, but your money will go further and you don't have to order every month.

A friend's son has been missing since 11pm, last night. He was last seen in the Lake Mead Hollywood area. He is autistic and is non-verbal. He is 17 years old, but has the mental capacity of a 5-6 year old. His mother is working with the police to locate him, but if you have any information, please call 702-271-6919.

I am curious to know where would be good to go for a couple days that is OUTSIDE of the Vegas area (such as Death Valley, Lake Mead, etc etc etc ? )
Wanna see some nature/landscapes/scenery and avoid the urban sprawl of town for couple days...

Death Valley seems to be couple hours away and Lake Mead is closer but... ?

I just don't know ... this is a total blind-spot for me ... never been to those areas ...

Artist Community in Vegas?

My wife and I are moving to Las Vegas in about two week and are looking for the "artsy neighborhood" there. Most cities have neighborhoods that cater to the local artist community. I'm a dj/musician and my wife is a photographer. We are vegetarian and while we do have a car, we choose to use mass-transit as much as possible. She will be attending CCSN while I'm likely to attend UNLV. We enjoy going to coffeehouses and eating at small-local cafe's. We are looking at apartments around the Paradise area near UNLV as that is where I'm most familiar. But we would like find out about other neighborhoods to explore.

We've found that all the natural food stores (Trader Joes, Whole Foods, etc) are located West of the i-15 and many coffeehouses are located just west of downtown. Even the CCSN Campus is located in NLV. So anyway, if you could help with general locations of where some places where we should look, if any. We would greatly appreciate it.

Sh*thoof has been producing it's annual film festival in Las Vegas for over 3 years. Featuring mostly locally-produced, independent shorts, Sh*thoof promotes the idea that film school is not a prerequisite to make or enjoy a film... ANYONE can make and/or appreciate this creative medium.

A departure from their annual festival, this monthly gathering at The Bunkhouse is something new for Sh*thoof. Celluloid Sunday is designed to provide a regular meeting point in which anyone who enjoys being turned on to great flicks by a trusted source can do that in a comfortable environment with food, drinks, and friends. New participants are welcome and encouraged to submit their own films for showing at future annual festivals, and to meet and become involved with the local film community.

Each first Sunday of the month will feature a different guest presenter, who will surprise us with a selection of shorts, feature-lengths, dramas, documentaries, comedies, cartoons, vintage commercials - WHATEVER they feel is relevant and wish to share. Presenters may or may not be film makers themselves, but they will be active participants in the local culture in some way or another.

The guest presenter for the debut of Celluloid Sunday on November 6, 2005 will be GRAMM MATTHEW, who will be premiering a feature-length film by Las Vegas' own Gilbert Cuevas titled "Desert Rose," among other surprises. Gramm is currently the writer/artist for his own comic book series, "Disposable Graffitti," published by Aberrant, Inc. Disposable Graffitti follows the misadventures of one Brer Rappit and his crew, and has been billed as "the first manic-depressive comic book." Disposable Graffitti does not disappoint, and comes complete with its own soundtrack... you'll have to buy your own asprin. Keep up with Gramm's work by joining the Militant Monkey Yahoo Group. Hi everyone,

now I need your help. My boy and I are going to Vegas for PimP and Ho and we'll be arriving Sat Sep 3rd. We are trying to find a hotel to stay in that night.

First we tried the Orleans cause that's where Pimp n Ho is anyway, but they won't let you stay there if it's only for one night. They have a 2 night minimum. Since I already have a fab room for Sun/Mon I need to find a one nights stay somewhere in Vegas(preferably close to the Orleans) for Sat night only.

I didn't want to pay over 150 either.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi everyone,
I'm looking for a real estate agent in this area who would have an interest in blogging on the Orlando real estate market for My Real Estate Blog. ; http://myrealestateblog.squarespace.com
It's a blog of collective realtors all across the US who blog on local trends and occurrences within their local real estate market. I know that Orlando is a hot spot for real estate.

I'm looking for a realtor who is knowledgeable about his/her local area and keep up to date on local real estate occurrences (ie; new development, real estate transactions and trends, new housing, etc...). If you know of anyone who would fit these requirements, I'd appreciate it if you could let me know.

Blogs are a vastly underused tool for real estate agents who are looking to gain internet visibility.

As many realtors know, gaining internet visibility is a great way to build your real estate business. Many people use the internet to do their initial homework on buying a home or looking for new property to invest into.

MREB, is meant to be a destination site for people to catch up on the latest news on real estate trends in local US cities. It is meant to aid and assist them in their decision making process with respect to buying a new home, relocating, or investing into real estate properties. As such, our content is meant to facilitate such issues for our readers.

I have quite a few realtors on board so far, and we expect to have anywhere b/w 20-30 real estate markets covered within the next 3 months. This also a great networking opportunity for the real estate agent as well, as she would be able to network with other realtors in our blog network. We've already brought on a few realtors and content will be launched within the next week or so.
Should you know of anyone with interest, please have them email me at my email address realblog@fusemail.com with the following;

1. Name,
2. real estate market that you serve & the type of homes you sell (ie; luxury homes, middle class, waterfront, condos, etc...)
3. website (assuming you have one),
4. years experience in real estate,

7. and any other relevant information that I should I know.

Once I look over the information, I'll provide further details.

POKER BOBBLE HEADS AND THE FUTURE OF POKER BY GARY J. STONE

I would consider myself to be a very true poker loyalist. But recently I was sent a link to view a new line of poker bobble heads. It was very cute but after it set in. It very much disturbed me. I will further explain. With the increase of the popularity of poker we will see more and more poker related items hit the market. I see this coming next.

POKER ACTION FIGURES

These could be very fun and entertaining but I see problems. I will further explain. Ok, for example lets say a parent buys this action figure for they're daughter or son. We will say Chris 'Jesus" Ferguson. We all know he is a great poker player but I see a mommy that might have had her heart broke or lost her virginity in high school with the neighborhood stoner and try to give him a haircut out of spite. Even worse at Christmas time he would multipurpose in the nativity scene if needed. He would have one special feature though. If you pull his arm back he could throw a plastic playing card and cut into a straw. That's great but children miss use common sense and I see a kid tearing up his sister's toys that would lead to a good ole ass beating.

Then they're would be Daniel Negreanus. His would be a small action figure so it looks like he would be picked on. He would never live up to THE HULK, or THE ROCK. So the problem would be keeping him in one piece. He would be beat up like a school drug nark. He would have an order form for replacement parts cause it would be very much needed.

Then I would like to mention Gus Hanson. You say 'Gary, how in the world would they're be a problem with Gus?" Well, I am here to tell you. Just look at him. He is very bald. Any smart-ass kid with a blue sharpie would make him a member of the BLUE MAN GROUP and I really don't feel Gus has any rhythm.

Then there are the ones that don't sell. They go straight to the .99-cent box or to your neighborhood Big Lots. One person who would lead that race would be Mike 'The Mouth" Matusow. Kids don't want to play with him. Hell, adults don't want to play with him. I do hear they will have a mute feature for the second run. I wish them luck.

Ok, then we would have the Johnny Chan action figure. See he's oriental and as an action figure he might not know that he's a poker player and not a martial artist. So the WWE stars and Japanese anime figures might taunt and tease him and put him on tilt. Now if he could meet up with a Matt Damon action figure he might be able to even the score from the movie Rounders.

Now I wouldn't want to forget the ladies of poker. Lets take Clonie Gowen. She is the most beautiful thing in poker right now. Do you think a 12 yr old bored boy will respect her? I doubt it very much. He will go into his sister's room and take her and lets say the Barbie Ken. Then he will be doing foul things like this. 'Oh Clonie, you like a guy that goes ALL IN…you Skank" or 'You like a guy that has the nuts, well I got a lovely set of coconuts for you bimbo broad". Then there is Annie Duke. We all love Annie, who doesn't? . I see this happening at some trailer park in America. We have this girl that has watched her two parents fight like monkeys throwing feces each other all her life. This little girl will not give Annie the respect she deserves. She will have a tea party and it will go like this. It will be all fine till GI JOE tells Annie to quit playing poker and go do the dishes. Annie being the strong woman will decline and say no. Then the shit hits the fan. GI JOE puts Annie in a kung fu grip and leads her to the plastic pink sink as he downs his last Budwieser from the BOB AND DOUG McKENZIE collection. Annie deserves much better than that people.

Then I hate to say but our guy Phil Ivey that we all admire so much could get with the wrong action figure crowd. If he is subjected to bad action figures it could hurt his poker skills. I love Snoop Dogg but he's no good for Phil as an action figure friend. One toke of Snoops 'Nashizzle Nitro Bong" and he wouldn't be able to play. He would be over at the Raymer table asking Greg if he had any Little Smokies or Bon Bons left. Just say no Phil.

Now I get to my favorite player, Phil Hellmuth Jr. He wouldn't stand a chance. He would have his head ripped off by parents daily. Not just because of Phil poker brat's reputation. It's also because of its features. It would have the 'Instafit" feature. The problem with this feature is…. it never turns off. You hit that button and you're your up all night unless it wins and lowers your self-esteem. We as consumers would not be impressed.

I hope you understand my concern. What's next you ask? Who knows and who cares I say. As long as I don't see a Chris Moneymaker 'Beer Gut" workout tape on the Home Shopping Network or the Sam Farha ' IF YOU NEVER LIGHT IT-YOU WILL NEVER GET HOOKED QUIT SMOKING PLAN" on QVC. I think we will all be fine. My calendar is marked and waiting for this though. It's the Marcel Luske 'Sing-A-Long with the 70s on K-TEL records. Be well and watch those all inn's. .

nevada election "glitches"

if you natives can do anything to help this woman's efforts, please do! even if it's just storming the sec. of state's office. anything is helpful.

I am still battling alone here in Nevada...can you assist in any way...I intend to go to court on Monday to ask for a temporary restraining order to stop Nevada State Secretary of State from submitting their 'final' tally to the Nevada Supreme Court to be accepted. Thereafter the results will be forwarded to the US Senate as Nevada's final tally. I have been begging Black Box Vote to help with money or lawyer power...the lawyer power came to late for me to contest the election and their money to file has not been forthcoming. Now the only legal option that I have is to stymie or at the least sully the process and outcome here in Nevada.

Briefly the Nevada Secretary of State has denied me access to all abstracts/voter statements other than the very cursory data which is on their website. I have been met with outright hostility from the Washoe County Registrar Dan Burke, who told me to "behave myself" when I asked him questions about the county process and final tallys. When I insisted upon explanations he threatened to have me thrown out of the office which means that I would have been arrested. His direct words were "shut up and get out or I'll have you thrown out" by police force.

Despite their best efforts to contain me I have obtained a copy of the Washoe County Abstract / Voter Statement and it is very obvious that Washoe and the State of Nevada are playing fast and loose with the vote tally.

There are at least 2400 votes unaccounted for with no under vote indicated on the tally to adjust for missing numbers. There are a number of other mysterious disappearances of vote to include a total category of voters whose vote was not entered into the final tally. The list of wrongdoings is extraordinary here because there is no oversight at all. I'm it.

Please help if you can...I need about$500.00 or at the least $300.00 for filing and service fees. I can do this on Monday pro se. Will you help... can you raise money in any way. PS: Should the Secretary of State provide any documentation they have told me that I shall be charged one dollar per page as punishment for "calling them liars" meaning that I have had the audacity to ask questions. Anyone who asks them questions is labeled liars apparently.

PPS: Despite Black Box Vote inability to help out here in Nevada I bless them for any and all efforts they have made and I sure you do as well. They're doing a brilliant job in Florida and I am sure that if they had resources to spare they would have shared.

PPS: Washoe County Nevada is quite important in the grand scheme of electoral politics. Clark County (Las Vegas et al) and Washoe (Reno et al) together make up about three quarters of the Nevada vote. Clark has gone for Kerry... WE need Washoe and we win Nevada... Please Help... contribute what you can in the name of priceless victory.

Does anyone know Steve Wynn?
Does anyone know anyone who works for Steve Wynn?
Is anyone planning to try and get a job at the new Wynn Casino?
They start taking application November 1st.

I’m would like to get the Warehouse Manager job at the new Wynn Casino.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

We are stranded in Las Vegas on our way back to Texas after Burningman. The gas peddle broke and we are in need of a mechanic or welder to help. Also, a place to stay and a warm shower would be fantastic.
